With technology advancing at a rapid pace ? growing more complex with every year ? the role of Cytology Application Specialist is becoming more important and playing a larger role in the sales process. Accordingly, you will support customers in all aspects of product implementation and upselling, working alongside sales representatives, coordinating customer adaptation and implementation of technology. The Cytology Application Specialist uses their cytotechnology experience and knowledge to organize and provide training on the use of Hologic Cytology products and ThinPrep Morphology and HPV testing for internal and external customers. The key to success is in providing the highest standard of quality service by delivering excellent product knowledge and education while providing consistent support as the technical experts in their field. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Understand the operation of the Cytology laboratory - Maintain ThinPrep Pap Test and ThinPrep Non-Gyn screening and interpretive skills as well as remaining proficient at specimen processing protocols to meet department standards - Develop and maintain knowledge on full Hologic Cytology portfolio: ThinPrep Pap Test, ThinPrep non-gyn, ThinPrep processor, Digital Cytology, Cellient Processor, Aptima HPV testing - Maintain strong clinical knowledge of Hologic Diagnostic Division products for Cervical Cancer screening portfolio - Strong knowledge of clinical data and benefit relating to the full cytology portfolio - Conduct customer training and review sessions for cytology personnel on the operation and maintenance of the assigned product portfolio - Support customers after product installation and with any troubleshooting on existing products - On site Review Scope/Review Scope Manual Plus, Genius Digital trainings for certification of customers - Collect laboratory test and usage volumes (gyn, non-gyn and HPV) and laboratory statistics - Identify laboratories to publish abstracts in support of Hologic Diagnostic products and product launches - Support Hologic sponsored workshops and assist in developing workshops for Hologic product line and support marketing efforts for existing products and product launch - Provide support to regional Cytology community (Key Opinion Leaders, workshops, cytology schools, regional meetings and National meetings) regarding their knowledge of Hologic's ThinPrep product line - Work with Technical Service and Cytology Support to develop strategies to successfully resolve customer issues in a timely fashion - Provide support for internal Digital Cytology studies to support product research and design and as needed/requested. Support in house customer training for Digital Cytology and other customer product trainings at our corporate facilities. - Maintain CAS administrative standards, be fiscally responsible, submit expense reports timely, and provide required field reports - Conduct in house trainings for co-workers/sales training to assist in furthering knowledge of Hologic product line Physical Demands (Please check all applicable boxes) The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - ? Exposure to blood. - Travel to customer locations by automobile and/or airplane (may include occasional evening/weekend travel and extended periods of time). - Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, sometimes with little notice, domestically or internationally. - Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds when setting up equipment. - Continuous use of the computer, using the keyboard and mouse, as well as the ability to use the computer simultaneously while on the telephone. - Ability to stand for extended periods of time. - Ability to use and wear safety protective gear/equipment (e.g. safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, respirator, etc.) and follow safety guidelines while in the lab, etc. To be successful in this role, you will require previous experience and skills in the following; - Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, or related field and Medical Laboratory Technologist certified with the CSMLS (Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science)in the field of Cytotechnology - Medical Molecular biology/testing knowledge a strong asset - Approximately 3 years of experience working in a clinical cytotechnology laboratory setting - Excellent communication, interpersonal, self-management, and planning skills - Experience working with customers in governmental and public health institutions - Ability to transfer knowledge and train users - Fluent English required,fluent French is an asset - Valid Driver's License and ability to travel flexibly Join us as today in a role that will affect the lives of millions.
